Start in your Shopify admin. StoreKnows builds test questions from your catalog, so there is no questionnaire to write. Review the simulated answers, try supported proposals and choose what goes public. With Live and your consent, approved tool fields can update nightly.
Check timing depends on queueing, storefront access and model availability. Supported theme activation is guided; unusual storefronts or data formats may need preparation or support.
Capture facts and run the free baseline
StoreKnows captures a saved catalog copy and builds up to 14 questions from fixed templates. Each has a reference derived from the captured facts. Model APIs answer them using Shopify’s native read-only storefront tools; the check does not publish StoreKnows tools or edit products.
The baseline covers supported compatibility fields, numeric specification filters, variant availability, shared-field comparisons and a specific helmet chart template. It is not a whole-catalog audit or a custom question set. Review the actual questions and coverage in your report.
Read the answers and references
A separate model evaluates each answer against its recorded reference: Answered correctly, Partly correct or Not answered correctly. Not graded means the evaluator could not assess it; No answer collected means no answer was obtained. Inspect uncertain grades and the source facts yourself. A catalog-derived reference can repeat an error in your catalog.
Your report and product data guide can be useful even when native Shopify already answers well or no supported proposal is ready.
Try an applicable tool with your own question
When supported data exists, a proposal may offer compatibility lookup, specification filtering, size recommendation, product comparison or captured variant price and stock. One model answers your preview question using that proposed tool and saved facts. You can inspect the product details used. Trying publishes nothing and does not require a subscription.
A proposal is not proof of improvement. A supported sizing tool can handle more charts than the baseline’s helmet question template; its presence does not mean your difficult sizing question was tested.
Review, approve and publish
If the proposal is useful, subscribe to StoreKnows Live. Subscribing does not publish anything. Review the base product fields, selected additional fields and referenced charts in the publication preview, then approve the exact selection. Activate the app embed in your theme and save.
The selected data becomes public, including on a password-protected storefront. Read-only tools cannot rewrite products, change stock or edit orders. Read-only does not mean private. Read the publication and AI-processing policy.
Verify availability and compare
The storefront setup check looks for the expected tools and published version. It confirms availability, not tool use or answer accuracy. After the first passing verification, 1 initial after-check repeats the baseline questions. 2 additional full AI checks are included each billing period for you to start manually.
Review better, unchanged and less accurate answers. Daily availability checks look for expected tools and the published version, with alerts after a confirmed loading problem and on recovery. They do not run daily AI comparisons, update facts or monitor shopper conversations. Results can vary between runs.
Maintain or withdraw the public version
Refresh catalog data without using an AI check. With Live and your auto-sync consent, approved tool fields can update each night. New tools and fields wait for review; incomplete captures and suspicious catalog changes can also hold an update. New listings that cannot be confidently classified stay out pending resolution. Inspect sync history, pause auto-sync or restore a retained earlier publication; restoring pauses auto-sync. Without auto-sync, review and republish the refreshed selection when ready. Prices and availability can change after capture; the current product page and checkout remain authoritative.
Cancel Live any time in Purchases and billing; access continues until the paid period or actual trial ends. Existing one-time owners keep their purchased tools. To stop loading tools immediately through your theme, switch off the app embed. To stop serving the public bundle, choose “Use free features only” in Purchases and billing, or uninstall. Uninstalling ends Shopify access and revokes StoreKnows public-bundle access, but is separate from deleting stored records. Copies already retrieved cannot be recalled. Check your storefront and source data first.
The released path uses a theme-based Shopify storefront with accessible native tools and the StoreKnows app embed. Hydrogen and custom headless storefronts are not supported by StoreKnows’s current publication path, even though Shopify documents its own Hydrogen developer preview.
- Product fields
- Usable variant records and accessible metafields or referenced metaobjects. Match names, units and values consistently. A field’s existence does not establish that a particular tool can use it.
- Size charts
- The released sizing tool uses referenced size-chart metaobjects with numeric measurement ranges. Its baseline sizing question requires a head-circumference column in centimetres. Image-only charts, other apps’ widgets and arbitrary tables do not establish supported ingestion.
- Compatibility
- Maintained compatible-model or fitment fields. External databases, aliases, conditional exclusions and large relationship systems need verified access, rights and matching logic before promising support.
- Coverage and access
- Catalog capture and question sampling are bounded. The baseline asks up to 14 questions, not one per product. Passwords or bot challenges can prevent a storefront check. English is the current app language; do not treat a saved price as a market-specific live quote.

Model tests and shopper clients are different.
Model tests and browser support are separate from the Live subscription. The released-functionality audit supplies template and data-format details. No named consumer client calling a published StoreKnows tool is verified on this page.
- OpenAI, Google Gemini and Anthropic APIs
- Used by configured simulated checks. The run saves model and evaluator settings; provider and model availability depends on that run. API support does not verify consumer ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude support.
- Compatible visiting browser agents
- Published WebMCP page tools require a browser and agent that support and choose them. Shopify currently documents Chromium-based browser support. Availability varies by client and account.
- Named consumer apps and browsers
- Unverified here: ChatGPT or dot, Gemini in Chrome, Claude consumer apps, Copilot, Safari and Firefox. No verified StoreKnows client-specific result is supplied on this page.
- Discovery and server-side integrations
- A separate route. StoreKnows publication does not enroll channels, modify discovery feeds, control recommendations or supply a server-side MCP integration.
